Mason
The Mason is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining walls, structures, surfaces, and other masonry work using bricks, blocks, concrete, mortar, and related construction materials.
The successful candidate will prepare materials, measure and align masonry work, construct walls and structures, perform repairs, and ensure completed work meets required quality and safety standards.
This position is suitable for skilled trade professionals with practical masonry or construction experience and the ability to work accurately with construction materials and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform masonry work according to project requirements and specifications.
- Construct walls using bricks, blocks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials.
- Prepare and mix mortar, concrete, and other construction materials.
- Measure and mark areas before starting masonry work.
- Lay bricks and blocks accurately according to drawings and instructions.
- Maintain proper alignment, level, spacing, and finishing.
- Construct partitions, walls, foundations, and other masonry structures.
- Repair damaged walls, surfaces, and masonry structures.
- Perform basic concrete and cement work where required.
- Prepare surfaces before masonry, plastering, or finishing work.
- Cut and shape masonry materials when required.
- Use masonry hand tools and equipment safely.
- Read and follow basic construction drawings and technical instructions.
- Check completed work for alignment, strength, and finishing quality.
- Maintain masonry tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Report damaged tools, materials, or technical problems to supervisors.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Follow workplace health and construction safety procedures.
